A Trip to Garden in the Woods, Framingham, MA

Wednesday, May 19
Depart: 7:00 am ~ Return: 7:00 pm

New England’s premier wildflower living museum has more than 1,000 plant species of flowers, shrubs, trees and ferns native to North America. This 45 acre world-renowned native plant paradise is the largest landscape collection of wildflowers in the Northeast. New England Wild Flower Society has focused on plant conservation, habitat protection, and environmental leadership and is recognized as one of the nation’s leading plant conservation organizations. The Garden Shop at Garden in the Woods features a great selection of native plants and a variety of eco-friendly garden supplies, books and gift items.

On to Longfellow’s Wayside Inn, a historic landmark, for lunch. The Inn has been serving travelers for almost 300 years. What began as an extension of David Howe’s family home in 1716, the Inn has survived because of its important history and beautiful setting.

Our last stop on our way home is Weston Nurseries, a world class garden center where you will find acres of premium trees, shrubs, perennials and garden décor. Join us for a day of eye popping native plants, history and shopping.
