Winters's chill keeping you out of the garden? Then create an indoor garden in a glass container. This mini greenhouse will bring a touch of spring to your home. We invite all gardeners who want to refresh their own terrariums with new plant material to come at 11:30 a.m. Materials Fee: Cost of materials used.


Sustainable Gardening Tips from a True Professional

Lecture by horticulturist, Alan Gorkin will feature tips on creating a sustainable and more ecologically sound vegetable garden using resources already at your fingertips.  Topics will include "harvesting" your grass, housing a small poultry flock, collecting and reusing rain water, maximizing the usefulness of your Fall leaves just to name a few.

Orchid Growing Workshop and Trunk Show

The Orchidphile, Carri Raven, returns for a workshop on growing orchids in your home. She will take us through the basics of watering, feeding and proper growing mediums and trouble shooting your very own orchid issues!  Bring your problem orchids for an evaluation.  Be sure to sign up for the workshop beginning at 9:30 a.m. to have the first crack at purchasing special orchids from Carri’s collection.


Introduction to Bonsai Series- 6 classes

Separate materials fee of approximately $125 - $150 paid to instructor.

This course will be taught by Michael Pollock and follow the general outline of the American Bonsai Society’s Introduction to Bonsai course. Students will explore Bonsai history, style and tools, pruning, wiring and styling of bonsais, container selection, soil, potting and maintenance. At the end of the course, students will have a good working knowledge of the practice of bonsai and will have created 2-3 bonsai trees to keep and develop.
